Concept of New Home Office
India and many other countries are under locked down for more than a month now. IT companies were already tuned to work form homes even before this pandemic; but other companies, especially, manufacturing companies, never thought of this idea, even remotely. In fact, there was no need and no occasion for it. Those who are involved in Healthcare sector did not think at all. School and Colleges were known for "Attendance Criteria" even for getting Admit Card for examination.
The current pandemic, whether you like or not, forced everybody to get confined in home and that too now, almost 35 days. The most developed countries are finding it difficult to cope with the challenge of Wuhan Virus. As on day, no vaccination is in sight. Treatment is given in hospital world over based on some assumptions and apparently those treatment is responding, like Hydrochloroquine etc.
Healthcare providers, scientist, researches, pharmaceutical companies are trying there level best to quickly find the vaccine and remedial drug, but God knows when success will come.
However, as soon as possible, countries will have to take risk and allow to lift locked down, to begin with partially, at least. Actually, this unexpected calamity has forced everybody to face life differently. All businesses, schools and colleges and "Non-Core" aspects of every enterprise have to be re-looked and it is necessary to explore whether such "Non-Core", I am not saying "Non-Essential", activities can be planned, organised and executed form a distant physical locations. Some schools and colleges have already started started exploring this, but whether it can be made a new way of learning, working and living.
To explore this, organizations need to involve external Facilitators to conduct "Brainstorming Creative" sessions for organizations. That will definitely lead to newer ways and methods of doing business, and may be with lesser costs involved,
It is necessary because, suddenly, every organisation will start facing cash crunch. This funds shortage may adversely affect the quality of product and services, indirectly, if not directly.
Now, therefore, instead of waiting for the normalisation, organisation will have to take initiative, NOW and approach the External Facilitator, to commence through Digital Session, so that the disrupted communication with employees will resume and employees will also think that they are involved in organization's policy making. Another benefit of such initiative will be that people will get accustomed with this type of distant Non-Physical working. More you work, more ideas will flow in. Everybody is creative innovator. Man has in-built flexibility to adopt to changed environment and situations. This is already substantiated by the evolution of a man.
Those who awake and arise NOW, will be forerunners and those who continue in deep slumber will miss the opportunity of self-renewal and growth.
